FESTIVAL PHOTOS + RECAP
Let us tell you about the ✨magic✨ of the 2024 Flash Foxy Climbing Festival in Bishop where we celebrated a decade of @heyflashfoxy on Instagram with an unforgettable weekend of climbing and companionship!
Over 325 amazing women and genderqueer climbers joined us in Payahuunadu for an action-packed 3-days filled with learning from 22 incredible guides, athletes, and community leaders. We had everything from clinics and workshops to meetups, group meals, and even 2 yoga sessions. Oh, and let's not forget the epic DJ dance party!
Throughout the weekend, we also took time to dive into important conversations about authenticity in climbing and learned from the local Indigenous community through cultural presentations. As usual, we set aside Sunday morning for Stewardship Projects. This year we hosted 3 projects!
But it wasn't all about climbing, our weekend was also about giving back to the local community. Y’all helped us raise a whopping total of $6,550 in donations to local nonprofits and tribal organizations!!
This includes $3,500 raised at our Friday/Saturday raffle to be split between Friends of the Inyo and the Owens Valley Paiute-Shoshone Cultural Center. As a continued acknowledgement that our events take place on and benefit from native lands, we also donate $5 from every ticket sale to accompany our donation to the Bishop Paiute Tribe. This is an additional $1,000. At our Sunday evening raffle we raised $1,850 to be split between Wild Iris Crisis Center and the Bishop Area Climbers Coalition. We also made a $200 donation to the Eastside Student Center. On top of all this, we're thrilled to have raised $400 for our Flash Foxy Scholarship Fund, ensuring more equitable access to future programming.
None of this would've been possible without our fantastic sponsors, especially our presenting sponsor Patagonia, who supported us every step of the way.
It was a weekend we'll never forget, and we can't wait to see what adventures the next 10 years bring!
